British GT and support.
Oulton Park was a personal project that I produced to further develop my portfolio inside of motorsports. The shoot was taken over the British GT3 -GT4 Championship weekend at Oulton park. It also includes support races from the Ginetta series of cars.
Qualifying session

This session had two separate parts to them as the location was changed part way through to allow for a contrast of high speed and low speed during the qualifying session. The first half of the images used a slow shutter speed, this allowed for the movement of the car to be shown when tracking them. This made the work stronger, as it gave more of a sense of speed for the position that we were standing and watching from. The second half of the images were shot at a different part of the track and allowed me to use a faster shutter speed. This is because of the way in which they had approached the corner. In this, it allowed me to change the speed of the shutter and still let the images seem as if they are moving, because of the way that they are cornering.
Race Day
Race day was a more challenging day, as there was less light and bad weather. This caused me to used a higher ISO and lower shutter speed. However this did allow for some more interesting images, as the cars were slower and more skittish around the corners. Also the spray from the cars added another interesting dynamic to the images.
