Initial Photography specific Instagram account
While looking at my Instagram account, I encountered a few problems with it. This was because of the age of the account, as I have used it for over 5 years. This meant that work that I had already done in previous units and areas of photography was already part of it. This made the account look random and messy, as none of the images had any sort of consistency with them and no sense of style or place. This is why, after deep consideration, I decided to clean up my existing account rather than create a new one. This was mainly due to people already knowing about this account. This meant I wouldn’t have to build back from the start.

Going forward I will also be only uploading images that are shot on my camera and edited to a high professional standard. This is because of the ways that I have been posting unfinished edits. This will be better on a separate account or on the reels feature.
Beales, F, 2020:P58 “Instagram is hard to beat when it comes maintaining a personal connection with audiences, but the lifespan of an image on that platform is short and a website gives you a platform to curate and display a collection of your best work, as well as legacy personal projects.”
This quote by Beales explains the way that there is space inside of the creative world were work fits a website and Instagram. This is down to the quick way that work changes relevance on Instagram due to the quick access to media people want. However, this can be good as it allows a wider audience to see the image and then be attracted to the link to the main website that is connected. This then adds to the development of the website, making it have a professional look, this will also keep people looking back at the images for longer.
