DS Colour Labs
During the process of talking to the curator for the self-directed exhibition, we had to look into printing. When printing previously, we used the internal system to print. However, due to the professional quality we wanted, we decided to use DS Colour Labs. This allowed us to get high-quality prints created at the sizes we wanted while letting their professional printer get the images to whatever quality we wanted. I printed A4 lustre. The printing process was quick and simple. There is an online submission process for the images that asks for details on size and quality. Then it asks for the payment with a print and collection date, with the minimum being 2 days. I also got two copies of each image printed to allow for mistakes and errors. This worked well, as the first frames that I had for the project didn’t work as intended as the borders were too narrow and didn’t allow for the mounting plates to be drilled into them. This then gave me the chance to change the frames and have the spare print to put inside them when they arrived.
