Audacity

Software Analysis

When using this latest version of Audacity, I came across some issues that I was not accustomed to after previously using the software in other projects. One of the main problems that I had was the cutting of the clips that I had recorded, and this has changed from previous uses as now the different segments sometimes close back together and other times don’t. This became frustrating and time-consuming due to the constant checking that I had to do over the clips due to my lack of understanding of the issue. This was also not helped because the clips had to be split by me due to my being ill while recording, and I wanted to sound as smooth as possible for the audio to flow across the clips that I had already recorded prior to me getting ill. Another problem that I came across was the exporting of the clips. This was more of a storage issue than an app problem, but due to me having more than one HDD, the audio always wanted to auto-save somewhere different, although I had previously saved it in the folder where I had the previous clips.

Overall, it was still much easier than recording it in a one-shot take on Voice Memos on my phone. It also helped that I have a professional-standard microphone to be able to do this. I found that the software was good for the purpose that I wanted it for.
