Feedback for Manchester Bin shoot 1
Initial shoot feedback.
Overall, the work has potential; however, the way that I decided to shoot with the bins being the only part of the frame was, in hindsight, wrong because of the way it did not allow the images to breathe. This was brought up in the feedback, where I was told to take a step back and think about the outer sections of the image. This would allow the bins to be personified better as they can be further contextualised in their surroundings. Overall, the feedback was relatively positive, and this will inform the way that I shoot next.
My reflection of the shoot was that the images worked well as a strictly technical selection, but this was not my intention. I tried to fix this with the processing of the images in Lightroom by allowing for a crop on the images; however, they had been shot on a technical basis and were too close to be able to fix with this initial shoot. The light style of editing that I had used did allow for the basics of the image to be more prominent, and this also helped with the chosen crops.
When shooting next, I will use the feedback and further the work to apply what has been suggested. I will also use my own critical analysis to improve on the styles of edits and have more thought when shooting wider sections to show the context around the subject.
