Finn Beales

72 hrs in …

72 Hours is a series of mini projects that Beales produces when travelling to locations for just 72 hours. The work is extremely interesting as it shows a selection of different shooting styles, from landscapes to portraits. The work shows Beales taking himself into areas of different cultures and documenting his personal experiences by shooting. This is almost like his personal propaganda of the areas he has been to for such a short space of time, and he is making prejudgements about how the place should be represented in his views. The way Beales has to shoot these images is interesting, as the work on this website shows different shots of the same areas from several different angles and perspectives. In this sense, you can tell the quickness of the shoots that he is producing, although this does give his work a special dynamic and causes you to double-take most of the images for context from the previous image. Another example of the speed with which he shoots is the equipment that he uses. Shooting his work using a DSLR and an iPhone.
